Short Bio:

I have worked 45 years in public sector mental health, with people with psychiatric disabilities. I want to tell stories that are interesting and entertaining, and I think my work world offers conflicts and dilemmas that could make it interesting for others to enter. Put another way, my challenge as a story teller is to give readers an entry into that world, and to draw them in. I want to dramatize the ethical issues and philosophical choices and dilemmas inherent in psychiatric rehabilitation work, which reflect universal life issues, and to share the human drama experienced by people in mental health recovery, their families, and the people who support them in their efforts. The way people work together as they struggle with the inherent conflicts in their work is something that interests me. At 65 and recently retired from my work, writing is a hobby, though I do dream of a readership. I am currently writing a novel that I hope will be the first in a series.

About Bob Schueler's Reading & Writing

I enjoy mysteries and suspense novels, as well as novels in general fiction--literary? I am a slow reader, and value the music in the language. I dislike piles of dead bodies, gore and sadism for its own sake--those thrills I can live without. I am interested in novels that take you into another world. I am very interesting in stories about worlds of work, that depict the way people work together. I like to read novels that feature a group of characters that carry through a series of stories.
Favorite Writers:
