Short Bio:

After a misspent adulthood pursuing a Music Education degree, JAMIE WYMAN fostered several interests before discovering that being an author means never having to get out of pajamas. (However, she can eat/spin fire, tell you a lot about auditioning to be a Blue Man, and read/write in Circular Gallifreyan.) As an author, Jamie’s favorite playgrounds are urban fantasy, horror and creepy carnival settings. When she’s not traipsing about with her imaginary friends, she lives in Phoenix with two hobbits and two cats. She is proud to say she has a deeply disturbed following at her blog. Jamie has an urban fantasy series following technomancer Catherine Sharp through a Las Vegas where trickster gods call the shots (WILD CARD, 2013 and UNVEILED, 2014), as well as carniepunk alternate-universe Sherlock Holmes: "A Scandal In Hobohemia" was featured in the anthology TWO HUNDRED TWENTY-ONE BAKER STREETS (Abaddon Books, 2014), and the novella "The Case of the Tattooed Bride" (Abaddon, 2015)

About Jamie Wyman's Reading & Writing

I like stories that blur the black and white lines of the world. Give me something grey and morally ambiguous, characters that toe the line between hero and villain. Make me squirm. Fill me with wonder. Show me the joys and horrors in the real world by using contrasts with fantasy and magic. I use the same approach to writing. I have to have humor, though. Even the darkest scenes have SOMETHING in them to laugh about. Humor--be it dark, subtle, slapstick or a horrible pun--is the connecting vein in my work.
Favorite Writers:
Jim Butcher
Christopher Moore
Daniel Quinn
Dean Koontz
Charlaine Harris
