I have a deadline coming up for a potential agent, so I am going to be putting my butt in my chair, my fingers to the keyboard, and targeting a goal of 3,000 words per day for the remainder of the month.

Are you serious about getting your book finished? If so, come sit at your computer, pick up your writing implement of choice, and join me!

I will be hosting Google+ Hangouts, and I may do some twitter events over the course of the month. I'll also be blogging my experiences -- but only if I reach my goal for the day first.

There are no rules, just try to target 3,000 words a day!

Starting word count for me on Sept 6 is 40084. :3

Glad to see you taking the challenge, Jamie!

I am doing a 1week1novel this week, so I am in too tho I do well over 3k a day, maybe it will motivate me to keep going after the week is over.

So very tempting, but I can't possibly pull it off.

I'm tempted. But then the reason I write longhand is so I'm focused on the story not the word count.

Good luck to all those who participate!

After some ups and downs, cracked 50,000 words today. Close enough! :3

Up to 62,000 words as of this morning... this goal limit is working really well for me. 3k is hard to meet, but within grasps... and for some reason I keep wandering past the 3k mark.

I would LOVE to do this. My day job/mommy duties just won't allow. BUT I too find the 3k mark a good goal for me when I have an entire day to devote to writing. Right now I am working on averaging 7k a week. Of course it averages out to 1k a day, but it usually comes out in two 3k chunks.

Keep it up RJ! I am inspired by your progress!

Aww, thanks Tawni It has been a lot of work but I'm glad I did it.

I'm up to 70,000 -- keeping between a min of almost 4k a day right now. This has been really good for forcing persistence and focus

Great job, everyone!

Maybe I should have joined in on this. My progress itself is sorely lacking. Oh well.

Finished the book at 96,000 yesterday. Averaged 3,733 words per day.

(And yes, the last day was a 3k+ day too.)

I am going to keep going on with the marathon too, I think. Will start a new book and split half of my day drafting and the other half editing on the completed project. Wonder how hard it will be to hit 3k/day with that sort of schedule.

Probably very hard....

All are still welcome to join me!
