Women's Fiction--On Every Agent and Editor's Wishlist

SO many of the agents and editors I have chatted with in the last year have reiterated to me just how much more women's fiction they'd like to see. Some folks call it "chick lit," some call it "smart women's fiction," and some call it "book club fiction": books like ME BEFORE YOU by Jojo Moyes, SOMETHING BORROWED by Emily Giffin, and any book you might nickname "Bridget Jones 2.0."

 

I am not seeing a ton of these types of books being posted on Book Country, but as this is basically my favorite genre of fiction, I really wish I was! Who's got a manuscript they haven't shared yet? Let me know when you are workshopping one--can't wait to check it out!

this must be why you liked my book, finding charlie! it's smart women's fiction about sisters dealing with the repercussions of maternal abbandonment. it opens with the mysterious disappearance of olivia's younger sister- charlie.
