About Alexandra Hartley's Reading & Writing

Alexandra Hartley has been reading as long as she can remember. In her homeschool years, over a decade ago, she would read "The Scarlet Pimpernel" and "Jane Eyre, " which solidified her intense passion for anything regarding history from 1792 to 1930. Though English was not her best subject in high school, college English is where she learned that English was now her forte. When she noticed this, she changed her major from opera performance to creative writing in an effort to pursue her lifelong dream of becoming a professional author. With music as Alexandra's second passion, she loves to incorporate musical elements as well as historical musical elements in her works. She believes that without music, she would not be the writer nor student she is today. Alexandra has had the privilege of playing in the prestigious Carnegie Hall, which she looks back on with great fondness. Though music seemed to be her fate in her early college days, Alexandra's glad to major in English--her true fate
