B.J. is a college English professor who studies pop culture–movies, games, books, or TV–or the academic side of geek media. He teaches composition and literature at a small, private college, and he lives in a small town in Tennessee with his wife and three stray cats.
B.J. has always wanted to make his living as a writer, and finished his first science fiction novel in 2010. He chronicles his experience as a writer on his blog through an ongoing series of posts called "Writing My Novel."
He loves reading anything he can get his hands on, and has fallen madly in love with his Kindle. He doesn't think ebooks are evil, nor are they the destruction of literate society. He just thinks they're easier to buy and store than physical books, and he is still baffled at how comfortable it is to read them with one hand while lying upside down on the couch.
