About Marya Giasson's Reading & Writing

Mysteries are my first love. I grew up with Nancy Drew and Trixie Belden. My bookshelves are full of serial mysteries, with a tendency towards the supernatural. I read at least one book a week and belong to a local group that meets once a month. I have been writing since, well... forever. The first story I remember was about a girl named Diana that I wrote in grade school and was illustrated by one of my best friends. I've been writing ever since. I wrote my first full length novel in high school and wrote another in college. Romance always plays a part of my writing. I also love to revolve my setting around the theater world. I am currently working on two projects. A young woman who is Broadway bound when she discovers the distraction of love. The revolves around a group of college students who each hold a piece of a puzzle that will lead them to discover they are from a long line of New England witches.
