History is one big story. There are wars, peace, love, hate, humanity and cruelty. Most people remember history as a boring class they had to take in high school or college, but I see history differently. I try to make my characters real in the way that their lives reflect the reality of their time period.
We often forget how easy our lives may be with cars, grocery stores, indoor plumbing and air conditioning. People in history did not have these luxuries. Most lived very hard and short lives. I try to remember that in my writings, therefore, some of my work may be perceived as dark. I also love to laugh, but I love to make others laugh as well.
My true goal in writing is to provoke emotions within my readers. I want others to cry and laugh because that is what life is all about - experiencing emotions.
