While I can read the great classics and understand them I actually shy away from such things usually. I prefer pulp and excitement. Urban fantasy, paranormal, soft science fiction and cyberpunk are all favorites of mine. I read, quite simply, to escape and enjoy. I also read RPG sourcebooks for entertainment even when I don't have a game to play.
My writing reflects this. I like to imagine that my work is enjoyable and you are free to draw meaning from it, but I write to entertain. I am a storyteller, and what is the point of a story if I bore the audience? I work mostly in the realm of urban fantasy and soft science fiction so far but I have also dabbled in cyberpunk. I have yet to be published but intend to learn to polish my writing until I can say otherwise.
