About Michael R Underwood's Reading & Writing

My work tends toward genre-mashing. I love putting genres in dialog with one another and seeing what happens. My two published short fiction pieces ("Last Tango in Gamma Sector" and "Kachikachi Yama") are both a result of that inclination, combining Space Opera with Argentine Tango in one and Kabuki, Cyberpunk and Japanese folk tales in the other. My urban fantasy Geekomancy was discovered on Book Country and sold to Adam Wilson at Pocket Star. Geekomancy is inspired by The Dresden Files, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Middleman and Clerks.
