About alanajoli's Reading & Writing

I review SFF, romance, YA, graphic novels, and mythology books for PW, SLJ, Flames Rising, and Mythprint, which takes up a chunk of my leisure reading time! Luckily, those are areas I choose to read in anyway. Aside from writing comics, for which I've written a space western, a space opera, and some Asian-flavor steampunk, I tend to write contemporary or high fantasy on the lighter (less gritty) side, often for a YA or YA-crossover audience. I tend to start projects from characters rather than plot, which means I often need feedback on structure and pacing in my early drafts. I'm excited to be getting that kind of feedback here at BookCountry! As of right now, I'm connecting to other users based on their reviews of my work (and am submitting requests to people based on my familiarity or reviews of theirs). This may change in the future as we all get more familiar with how things work around here.
