I'm on my laptop with a sensitive pad-thingie and accidentally hit the down-thumb on someone's critique of my chapters. I certainly didn't mean to, and now I can't undo it! (I hit the up-thumb too, so I just look like an idiot, but I don't want her to have a negative blob on her record.)
Can someone either tell me what to do, or fix it for me?

You can't undo it yourself, but I would just comment under the person's critique and apologize, explaining what had happened and you weren't dissing the crit.

I did explain myself and apologize, but I feel terrible, because isn't she rated on such things? Can the moderator remove it?

I don't know, I haven't seen any sign that they have before. If it makes you feel better I went to your book and gave the review a thumbs up to counter the thumbs down.

I've noticed when using the netbook and the touch pad I also tend to click unexpected things, including the thumbs up or thumbs down. Since it isn't in my power to fix, I figure it's not in my power to worry about. The rating game doesn't go beyond Book Country so it's not going to destroy anyone's chances of being published.

I just feel bad -- after someone's made the effort to give a good review.
It's a new mac, and MAN is the trackpad sensitive! I feel like all I have to do is THINK about the computer and it clicks.

Oh dear. I need to get a little down-thumb in book-country-use as a consequence. Either way, think I'd better stay off the site when I'm on this dumb laptop then!

I wouldn't worry -too- much about the occasional accidental thumbs up or thumbs down. From my basic understanding, one such instance doesn't harm (or benefit!) any one person very much. Now, if you did it every time you reviewed a piece or saw a comment in a discussion, then I'd say it would be a serious problem or focus of concern, but I wouldn't beat yourself to death over it -- you apologized, you did your part to rectify the situation, so it is really not the end of the world.
