Who is your book dedicated to? I thought it would be fun to compare notes on how you are deciding, or how you decided, for those who've already been published.

I dedicated my first book to my aunt Jeanne, who is one of my very best friends, because I got the idea for the book at her house!

With Between, I waffled between several different choices. At first, I was going to dedicate it to my friend and co-worker, Jamie, who inspired the penguins and introduced me to the wonders of Escher paintings. Jamie also suffered from depression and ended up taking his own life before the book was published, so I had all sorts of reasons for dedicating it to him. What it came down to, though, in the end, was that it had to be dedicated to my Viking, because he is the one who has encouraged me, pushed me, read for me, and loved me through the process of getting two books into print. Both of them are dedicated to him.
