Short Bio:

In another life, I worked for a major financial institution in Canada for nearly 30 years. But I've wanted to write since I was a little boy. In 2009, I started a blog called "This Gay Relationship, " which was initially about my monogamous relationship with my partner of twenty-plus years. The blog continues to be about that, but the subjects have expanded to include helping to build self-esteem in LGBT people. Finally, for the past five years, I've been working on a full-fledged novel. I'm nearing completion on the major rewrites and need feedback on what works, what doesn't, and how to improve it for publication.

About Rick M.'s Reading & Writing

My reading is kind of all over the place. I like to read both fiction and non-fiction. Some of my reading depends on what's new and noteworthy in the current marketplace. Some of it has to do with books I've known about for a long time but never got around to. And some of it has to do with books I've owned for years, but lost track of because something else took precedence. Whatever the case, I know how critical reading is to the writing process, so I'm always reading something. But I also read because I can't imagine a life without it. Just like I can't imagine a life without writing–or, at least, my life without it.
