Short Bio:

I love words! Reading, writing and talking are my reasons for being. i work in Education and so get to use them a lot; at 58 I am beginning to feel that if I don't make a move towards getting some of my work published very soon it's probably not going to happen at all. I live in the heart of the Black Country with my wife, a large Golden Retriever and 3 mad cats. For many years I was very involved in the Spiritualist movement, working as a medium and as President of a church. These days, although I still "hold the faith" I am no longer actively involved. I think I have been writing fiction since the age of 7; my brother and I still giggle when we recall my reference to "the type of paper used for blackmail" in one of my early works! Hopefully I have improved a little since then. I am truly excited about the thought of joining this "bookish" community - if i can ever get my head around the technical side of things!

About Helen Line's Reading & Writing

My reading style is quite wide but the main two genres I leap on are "Women's Fiction" and "Psychological thrillers" I love a story that has believable characters living in a world that I can recognise (guess i have just ruled out Science Fiction and Historical stuff there) with conflict and "life stuff" to overcome. I don't "do" romance or light and fluffy and outgrew the "horror" genre years ago, having devoured it for a long time previously. These days I do my reading on a Kindle, a move I thought I would never make, but still keep my old favourites in hardback to touch and smell now and again!
