Short Bio:

I first read The Adventures of Tom Sawyer when I was ten years old on the island of Andros, in the Bahamas and I knew than I had to become a writer. Straight out of high-school I landed my dream job at a local newspaper but, because of the low pay, my mother refused to let me stay on. To satisfy her I got a government job, I got married and had two boys, got divorced within a year and grew up my boys on my own. All along I tried my hand at writing but was so disappointed by the quality of my work I took on Advance English, Journalism, Psychology and Philosophy at our local College for only one year and then I did a two-year correspondence Novel Writing course with Writers' Digest. At the ripe of 55, after my boys were well on their own, I retired broke with a tiny pension and started my dream to become a published writer.

About Daeyn's Reading & Writing

I grew up in a family of educators so, as early as I can recall, I was reading under a coconut tree or around the kerosene lamp at night before falling asleep with a book in my hands. Fortunately, in those days Literature was studying the Classics: Shakespeare, Dickens, Chaucer, The Bronte Sisters, Jane Austen, Daniel Defoe, Herman Melville, Shelly & Keats, Jonathon Swift and others.
