Short Bio:

After UC Berkeley and the San Francisco Art Institute, I went to Spain where I stayed for the next 20 years, having a great time and supporting myself by teaching the 6-60 crowd. In Spain, I began writing, in Spanish, books for children and young adults. I’m now in the process of translating and rewriting books I first wrote in Spanish. I published 2 books for children in Spain with Montena, part of the Mondadori group. Apart from writing, I do photography and some graphic design. I love chasing after dragonflies and other insects to photograph. I enjoy traveling, especially to Kyoto, Japan. I collect 1st editions of children’s illustrated books. When I have time I create hand made books with pictures from my ephemera collection. I'm envious of the work ethic of bees and ants, so much self discipline!

Give me fantasy with whimsy and surprises, in books, music and films. Joan Aiken tops my list for imaginative, well written books for young adults that include alternate history. And a mystery writer who gives you arm chair travels all over Italy, with political intrigue: the late, great Michael Dibdin.
