Short Bio:

Retired now after having varied and unique professional experiences. I was a Deputy Clerk of the Court for ten years. I sat in on everything from small claims court to gruesome murder trials. I then worked as a paralegal in the Prosecutor's office. Many fun times but, also, many emotionally draining cases. After eight years, I left Idaho and moved to Alaska. I became a Special Education teacher and taught in remote Eskimo villages for three years. My Alaskan adventures created memories never to be forgotten. I then taught in Anchorage on military bases. I now live in Colorado enjoying my three grown children and six grandchildren. However, I am hearing the call of the wild again and am going to Australia for three months. Since my retirement, I've had time to put to paper a mystery story that has been rolling around in my head for sometime--The Repercussions. Found out I love writing and am close to finishing my second book.

About Diane Jennni Hill's Reading & Writing

I enjoy a varied genre of reading--kinda like my enjoyment of music. I can get totally drawn into historical non-fiction. I love the in-depth political book as well as true crime stories. Some of my favorite fiction books have been Native Son, Steppenwolf, Crime and Punishment, and the Women's Room just to name a few. I have no patience with Science Fiction or Fantasy. May be old-fashioned but I do enjoy reading a daily newspaper. The experience of writing my first book was amazing and unexpected. The characters moved in and would not leave. They wrote the book for me because I think I could visualize each one of them. We knew each other very well. If I encountered a writer's block, it was usually because I was trying to have a character do something that was not within their character to do. I spent at least six months voluntarily chained to my computer. Then I fell into an abyss--creating a Query Letter. I got burned out on that required writing assignment.
