Short Bio:

Never thought I'd want to write a book. English essays were always easy for me. Always marked unique, or very original, etc. Used to think there was something wrong with me since every thing I wrote was unique, very original, etc. In High School and college I competed on the Forensic or Public Speaking circuit. Wrote or edited my own speeches of course. I really enjoyed public speaking and loved the attention. Got scholarships to help pay for college. I have finally decided after all the wonderful book that I have read that I would like to write my own books. But it is a lot more difficult than I thought it would be, and I don't want to write a bad, dull, boring book. Or a book that should never have been written. So I am looking for a writing community, because I have noticed that all of my favorite writers have a group of writers that they credit with the birth of their book. I know that I need people to bounce ideas off of and make alternate suggestions on my writings.

About beccid's Reading & Writing

I have been a bookworm since I started reading. When I was a kid I would walk to the library every Saturday and get 13 to 14 books. (That was as many as they would let me check out). I would bring them back the next Saturday and get as many more as I could. I started out reading fairy tales, then moved on to folk tales, first from the U.S., then from any other countries I could find folk tales from. I then moved on to mythology. Finally I had read through all the books in the library of that type, so I asked the librarian for suggestions. She is how I got started out on science fiction. Of course, I also read many of the childhood classics. Books like Black Beauty, Little House on the Prairie, etc. In Junior High I was given a list of 100 books recommended reading and read The Iliad and The Odyssey. I was already familiar with the Greek and Roman Gods and Goddesses from my mythology reading. Then fantasy with writers like Mercedes Lackey, Piers Anthony, then paranormal romance
