Short Bio:

Just turned 40, mum of two. I was a RN for 18 years. Shortly after having my second child, who has Down Syndrome, I decided to stop working and stay home with my children. Now that they are a little older I have decided not to return to my old career, it was never something I enjoyed or wold have picked for myself had I had a choice. With a very understanding husband I am going back to what I enjoy, which is art and reading. I have always been interested in writing and am going to give it a shot. I have never been a great writer, but I am hoping to become better through this forum.

About pokokitty's Reading & Writing

I have always been interested in fantasy with occasional sci/fi thrown in. I love all forms of fantasy from the current craze of vampires and werewolves to the older dungeons and dragons from when I was a kid. The have always been interested in alter universes of sci/fi and going back and foreward in time, along with alternate dimensions. My first love of reading actually came from my mum's personal stash of historical romances to the sleazy stuff I am sure I was way to young to read. Thank goodness she didn't censor me too much. I think it helped me develop a bigger vocabulary at a younger age. Too bad it didn't help my spelling. Since most of them were British authors I was always getting in trouble for extra placing an extra 'u' in certain words. Apparently English teachers here do not like that. Even today I find myself still getting tagged by my spell corrector.
