I love reading books and stories that take unexpected turns. My favorite opening lines are ones that show off a whole world I'll get to explore, but I'm only seeing through one small window at first, like the author is setting me up to see more and more.
My early trunk stories are basically all dialog and action--setting and feeling are harder for me, but I'm enjoying learning, as these are usually what I love most when reading.
I think in the end I want to write about duty, family, and self, and all the ways those get in each other's way, but that sounds sad and boring so I'll throw in some magic and period costumes.
