Short Bio:

I'm a novice. There i said it. The first step to fixing a problem is admitting you have one right? Well my problem is caring too much what other people say about my writing. So i solemnly swear to take what you say under advisement but retain the right to reject what you say and continue on with what i originally planned. I like talking and coming up with interesting ideas so my virtual door is always open to those sorts of conversations. I like creating not destroying. I used to have my work in progress novel posted here but i decided to remove it. I believe i committed an error common among budding writers, jumping the gun. I posted my novel in progress without even completing a first draft, then i proceeded to let the reviews annoy me so much that i kept going back and changing things in the beginning of the book (which obviously halted my progress). I was so hungry for feedback when i should have just given my story the love and attention it deserves. Write for yourself only.

About MAS Douglas's Reading & Writing

Lately I've been sucked into the highly underrated and overly popular genre of young adult fiction. I don't really know why. It is simple, easy to read and fun. Sometimes you even find something profound lurking in the pages. I have been meaning to read the classics but i keep putting it off, and with school breathing down my neck i may not read anything new for a while. I don't just like simple books though, i love the Inkheart heart trilogy, which (if you haven't attempted to read it) makes you work to read it. Cornelia Funke is very descriptive and i know this turns some people off, but in my opinion description and narrative are wonderful things, not just something to be sprinkled here and there so the story doesn't end up as just a collection of dialogue. Reading equals better writing, this is obvious, but you have to define "Better" first.

Cornelia Funke
Suzzane Collins
Rick Riordan
