I am an avid reader and enjoy a variety of genres - magical realism, historical, thriller and contemporary drama.
In terms of my writing, I allow the narrative to develop over time, without overt planning. I have vague idea of the themes to be explored and the plot, but prefer to be guided by the characters as they come to life. I often find that the characters surprise me - for example, by being less 'bad' than I thought.
