When I write, I love to fall into the story so deeply that I lose myself and the characters speak through me. It often feels as if I am transported to a whole new dimension in which I am only a chronicler recording what I am seeing, hearing, and experiencing. No matter how much I try to map my story out before I begin, the story always takes its own journey and I find myself amazed by what transpires.
When I read, I look for books that give me the same kind of experience. A book must have a heart that beats so loudly that I simply cannot put it down until I find out what happens next. As long as I find that intoxicating pulse, it rarely matters what genre or topic the book is about. It is a life, outside of my own that takes me on a journey, that I long for. No journey is ever as sweet as the ones you find on the pages of a well written book.
