Starting his professional career doing investigations for insurance companies, Mr. Turek has had more than ample opportunity to learn and experience good detective work. Despite this, his first novel was an environmental thriller, The Plutonium Standard, self-published with Lulu. Since then he has self-published five more novels, three of which feature the world famous, train-watching detective, Charlie Komensky. All five are available as eBooks and paperbacks through Amazon.com.
Mr. Turek is also a railroad fan, and also a model railroader when space and time permit. All of his self-published novels have Chicago connections.
