Although most of my published writing has been non-fiction my style has been heavily influenced by the fiction I have read. I prefer writing in the first person, which is one of the reasons I was attracted to ghostwriting. I particularly enjoy reading and writing about and with people at the extreme ends of society, from the dictators and billionaires at one end to the abused children and bonded labourers at the other, I am fascinated by celebrity, both when it is hard-earned and when it is apparently randomly bestowed by the mass media. As well as enjoying books that reflect my own experiences I am attracted to stories that take me to new cultures and new countries.
