About Kate Dochart's Reading & Writing

It would be safe to say that I read about 8 novels a year. Most recently, I have been reading A.J. Hartley's work and have found an addiction for the cleverly written Nikki Heat series that parallels the tv series Castle. Fantasy is more of what I read and, of course, I have read all of the Harry Potter and Twilight books. There will always be books that you have to force yourself to put down and ones that you force yourself to finish. I have been guilty on both counts. I also happen to love the classic work of Dumas (The Black Tulip being my favourite) and Robert Burns, in original form, has helped me understand heavy Scottish dialect when I converse with my friend from Glasgow. I no longer ask him to slow down and repeat himself. I write modern fantasy that has a bit of cross-over from medieval Scotland and Arthurian lore. Currently, I have two projects in process that I work on between my studies for my BS in Communications and a minor in Criminal Justice (for the fun of it).
