I'm a reader, not a writer. With that said, I can say that I consider myself a very good reader.
I read everything from pulp fiction to cerebral literary works. If I can read it in its original language, better yet!
Favorite works come from Tolstoy, Dostoyevski, Pasternak, Kafka, Cervantes, Clive Barker, Ray Bradbury, Maupessant, Herbert, Garcia Marquez, Octavio Paz, Robert McCammon, Lansdale, Brian Lumley, etc... (I just puked a list of authors I love as they appeared in my head).
