Well written horror fiction is my favorite genre. Vampires and Werewolves are my favorite topics to read and write about. Macabre little jewels from the likes of Alfred Hitchcock are my first preferences. i love to read and write stories which take place in the 30's and 40's in rural settings. Everyday folks stumbling into unusual situations gets my attention. Some of my best writing is about people alone in rural settings. Sometimes the story is more about the setting and the mood than about the character. American rural life in the 30's 40's and 50's securely holds my interest as well. I love writing and reading about small town life, sometimes to impart nostalgia for the period, but oftentimes to cast my characters into deadly peril. Reading westerns is fun, even though I've never written one.
