I live by Scout Finch's maxim, "Until I feared I would lose it, I did not love reading. One does not love breathing." When the big earthquake hits California, the cat and I will be buried beneath a hundred-weight of books. I'm happy to read just about anything as the author's voice has always been more important than the topic or genre, but I prefer fantasy and historical fiction of most sub-genres.
Writing, for me, was a natural progression from reading. While it is my hope, my goal, and my dream to become a published author, no matter what happens I know that I will always be a writer. It's like some kind of sick compulsion. (If such a thing can be deemed healthy, that is.)
I write mainly fantasy, which is where my heart truly lies. I have adored vampires since I read Dracula at the age of of 12 and I hope, some day, to write the great vampire masterpiece. I am currently working on two pieces- one a comic fantasy and the other a history with fantasy elements.
