About Maggie Stone's Reading & Writing

I read The Godfather at age 12; The Exorcist shortly thereafter. To say I was a precocious reader--well, yes, I suppose I was. So, here in my middle age, I read the whole Harry Potter series...go figure. If I like a book, I read it. I'm drawn to science fiction and certain mystery writers, but every so often, I'll discover an author I haven't read before. Then I'll read everything I can by them. One summer I read every John le Carre I could lay my hands on. Then came Ken Follett; then Tony Hillerman. One summer I discovered the Gateway books by Frederic Pohl--well, you get the idea. My own writing consists of forays into science fiction, although I have a character in mind that might live in medieval times or a fantasy world. I like fantasy--there are no limits of where you can go or what you can do. You can make up the rules as you go. As long as there is consistency in those rules...
