About Kat Salazar's Reading & Writing

I am looking for manuscripts that are around 55, 000 words in length, if your manuscript is significantly shorter but I REALLY see potential in it then I will add it to books I'm "following" in the hopes that I will see revisions/updates made that will bring it closer to a marketable length. I do NOT usually like first person point of view, however sometimes I am pleasantly surprised. My personal love is anything Magical Realism. For those that unsure of what that term means, it is NOT Fantasy, it is a sub-genre of Fiction, a realistic fictional story that has touches of whimsy/magical elements sprinkled throughout. Whether the magic is real or simply whimsy is usually ambiguous. Some good book examples of this include anything by Alice Hoffman, Sarah Addison Allen, and Isabel Allende. Joanne Harris' book Chocolat (and the film version too) is another good example of Magical Realism. I also have a soft spot for witches/witchcraft books.
