I am a fast reader when I actually find the time to read for pleasure! :) School often takes over my life instead. My original love is fantasy, but I've happily branched out before and will happily do so again. I write reviews for The Ranting Dragon (http://www.rantingdragon.com), as well as on my own blog (http://caleighminshall.wordpress.com). To me, a good book requires two things: 1) excellent characterization and 2) melt-in-your-mouth writing.
As for my writing, I've only recently gotten back into the practice after years and years of neglect. It's fun, but a lot of work! So far I am hoarding my first draft like a dragon with her egg, but maybe once it's a little older -- the draft, not the egg -- I'll post it here to learn how to improve. Until then, I look forward to being inspired and encouraged by other people's efforts on Book Country.
