Reading: I prefer fast-paced stories that take their central characters far and beyond their normal boundaries. I love following characters who are as witty as they are bizarre. If a character happens to be (happily) mentally unstable, I'll follow them to hell and back. As far as scenes and plots are concerned, I love highly imaginative and unique story lines. If I think, "I wish I thought of that, " or "I would never think to do that plot turn, " I'll gladly re-read through the book.
Writing: See above. I try to capture all of the aspects that I love about story and the written language into my work. My writing style is terse and to the point, and I tend (or at least try) to waste no time jumping into the meat and bones of the story.
