About Bridget AB Halfaker's Reading & Writing

I have always enjoyed the act of planning something: a birthday, a wedding, a surprise party, classroom schedules. One thing that I have always tried to do is to plan the perfect crime. I enjoy writing down the different pieces of a plan and moving them around like a puzzle until they fit together well. Writing a murder mystery involves doing just that. The first book in the Beatrice LaCroix series, “The Last Day of School”, takes place at an elementary school where Bea is a special education teacher. I wrote this book while being employed at a very similar school, in a very similar education position. I have enjoyed working on the Beatrice LaCroix series because I get to travel to local areas in order to do research for the books. I have discovered much about the area that I currently live in (Seattle, Pacific Northwest). I enjoy traveling overseas as well (as does Beatrice LaCroix) and hope to include overseas adventures into the series later on.
