I don't typically get to write as much as I want. I love creating worlds and characters and I've been doing it since the first time I sat down in an English class or listened to a piece of music and composed a scene in my head to match it. When I read I usually stick to fiction, as I get enough of non-fiction in my job. I enjoy any number of genres which you can see above. At the moment I am trying to finish the The Complete Sherlock Holmes while reading snippets from Dostoevsky. I really enjoy noting the undercurrent cultural differences between Russian and American/English writing and I'm hoping to explore other cultural differences as well. My writing is currently focused on a novel. My friends have told me that I should focus on short stories first but I can't seem to turn away from my book which is, at this point, five years in the making. It's a modern fantasy story set on a slightly alternate Earth.
