First and foremost-- I read more than I write. I have noticed that over the years as a developing writer that I have become a better editor than a writer. I read and through that I learn and forge my own voice by channeling that inspiration. I read mostly science fiction and fantasy and historical fiction and will occasionally dabble in Mystery/Thriller's. I also read contemporary fiction, poetry, memoir, and art history texts as well as classic literature.
From my writing point of view, I write hard science fiction and fantasy and sometimes mystery/thriller/horror. I have also written short fictions that dwell in historical fiction/contemporary settings. But mostly, I consider myself a science fiction writer. The fox in the henhouse of fiction.
