I am a hopeless romantic, the 'Happily Everlasting' kind. My ideal day...at the beach, reading a love story, packed with hope, humor, hurt, and happiness. Think Nora Roberts and Jodi Picoult, two contemporary authors I can't get enough of. However, recently I have ventured into the YA readership with Stephanie Meyers' Twilight ' series. I'm a Team Edward!
Nonetheless, romance writing owns my heart. Last fall I queried a few agents with my first draft of my novel Age of Love. I was naive as to the procedure of getting an agent and publisher. I thought all I needed is for someone to like my story and wham...I have a deal. I was not even close! I received the dreaded REJECTION emails immediately. Luckily one had a wealth of information as to the process of getting an agent. So the past few months I have surrounded myself with trade journals, agent and author blogs and any "how-to books". Needless to say, it has been a humbling experience. Book Country is my new found friend!!
