In my house we have two kinds of people the fiction reader and the non fiction reader. My wife dislikes fiction and reads only non fiction. I associate non fiction with work material so for R and R I read fiction. My favorite genre is 'thrillers' but anything that captivates the reader makes good reading to me.
My life as a surgeon is slowly winding down so I am interested in writing a novel like all the fiction that entertained me through the many years of reading novels.
My writing so far involved some short stories and now a novel about honor; and how it's almost seen as a foible in the western world, in contrast to the Islamic world where honor is synonymous with power, love and respect. In my early, growing up, years in Cyprus the two cultures of Greek and Turkish (Christian and Muslim) gave me insight to many social conflicts and potential volatile issues.
