About Richard Santos's Reading & Writing

I've written many short stories, but am currently drafting a novel. The novel is set in New Mexico and involves theft, political corruption and the ghost of Billy the Kid. I don't read thrillers exclusively--the kind I enjoy are more along the lines of Mary Gaitskill or Robert Stone novels. Books of ideas in which there happens to be violence and crime. I'm also an English teacher and take frequent creative writing workshops. I enjoy giving feedback, and find that I learn something every time I help someone else with their work. I look forward to working closely with other people on this site.
