After spending almost 20 years teaching the works of others, and becoming frustrated with the lack of interest in the books I was using in my classes, I decided to write the sort of book my students would like to read. I currently have two works in progress: the first, an account of a prison gangster (inspired by the true story of one of my students), and a suspense novel. My interest is character-based crime fiction and the young adult audience. I am in the beginning stages of developing my writing with an eye towards getting published in the future or self publishing in this new era of ebooks.
