About Fionnuala Murphy's Reading & Writing

Most of the books on my shelves are in the high fantasy genre. Although I do occasionally dabble in Urban Fantasy and non-genre fiction. I started reading young. Roald Dahl was my gateway drug, followed by Enid Blyton. Those slightly fantastical worlds filled my imagination. I would love to write something half as good. I am at the beginning of writing an Urban Fantasy novel set in Dublin. It's slow going as quite frequently my characters abandon me for months at a time. Hopefully I will have my first draft finished by Christmas. I look forward to sharing it.
