WRITING: I write primarily fantasy (traditional, contemporary, epic, dark, and what I like to call pre-steampunk) as well as the odd dabble in science fiction or alt history. Most of my work has a dark edge (rarely do all the main characters survive), a touch of social satire if it's work-appropriate, and an attempt to turn established tropes on their ears. ●
READING: I read the genres I write as well as well as biographies and the occasional historical text. I click through links in Wikipedia. I own a nook and use it every day on my commute into work. Lois McMaster Bujold is my favorite author. Tad Williams, Robert E. Howard, and Lewis Carroll had the largest impact on my early life.
