About Marsha Browne's Reading & Writing

I've had a lifelong love affair with story. I have eclectic taste and enjoy reading anything and everything that has at its base a powerful conflict and characters who I can care about, regardless of genre. Writers who win my love are ones who can make me think in new ways. For these reasons, I particularly resonate to writers like Ursula K. LeGuin, George Orwell, Aldous Huxley, Mary Renault, Virginia Woolf, and Georges Simenon. The more psychologically challenging, the better I like it.

.

As for my own writing, it runs a gamut, from travel essays to narrative non-fiction and technical how-to guides to fantasy fiction, extending to everything in between. I am particularly fond of exploring the way ancient myths can inform our lives in the 21st century.
