I've been driven to write since an early age. Perhaps having a brother named Tom Sawyer has something to do with it; or could it be because I was born in Papa Hemingway's home town? Whatever the influence, it's strong and unshakeable.
I've written three novels and several short stories. Most of my writing involves people struggling to redeem themselves after being thrown off the path to success by unforseen circumstances. I'm also fascinated by how people rationalize moral dilemmas and the choices they make.
As President & CEO of a successful company I am very busy, but I take time out of each day to develop story ideas. The best ones grab hold of me like a drug and eat away at me until I satisfy the urge to put them on paper. It's my job to craft the story so that the reader is as caught up in it as I am. For reasons I can't explain I enjoy writing more than anything else I do--with or without my clothes on.
