My favorite books for myself are contemporary, funny romance novels. I love the authors who write as if they are just talking to me over a cup of coffee, getting me to laugh most of the time..... but throwing in a good cry every now and then.
I have always loved picture books. I guess because of enjoying being around children and with my art background, picture books seem to throw the best of all in one place. My sons grew up with lots of picture books, whether our own or many, many from the library and today, I'm proud to say, they are both HUGE readers. I also volunteered at the grade school for many years, reading pciture books to the class and I was an aid/substiute teacher in a 1st grade classroom for several years.
So far, I have one magazine article accepted for a children's magazine.
