Ken reads contemporary and classic literature, some fiction and a bit of non-fiction. He writes commercial fiction, looking for dark elements in ordinary lives. The hero of his thriller series is Drew Alexander, the young troubleshooter for a shadowy shipping firm. The series hook is current events and political intrigue. The first book in the series, about Somali pirates and the geo-politics of oil, was published POD in 2009 and optioned for a feature film. Ken retains all rights other than film. The second book, complete in manuscript, drives off competition for lithium, a scarce element in electric car batteries. The third is about traffic in women and is in draft. Ken is also working on a western.
