My reading tends to go in spurts regarding genre. I'm drawn to historical non-fiction books about medieval ages, mythology, military history, American Old West, ancient, pirate and American Civil War.
The Civil War is at the top of my list now, since I'm studying battle campaigns and tactics for future works.
Fiction wise, I enjoy historical romance, especially when the author does a good job on research. Epic fantasy is at the top of my list now, although I'm also reading The Electric Church by Somers and Horse Soldiers by Stanton.
I'm currently doing agent requested revisions on my epic fantasy, Far Rider. I'm trying my hand at map-making for the book, which has been interesting. After I finish that, I'll return to work on another epic fantasy. Eventually, I'd like to return to work on a historical fiction about a cattle baron's wife.
