I’m R.S. Hunter, a writer with a passion for anything within the realm of speculative fiction — science fiction, fantasy, and even horror. I believe that words are a way to transport ourselves to somewhere outside of the ordinary. They create places where the familiar becomes strange, where the quotidian becomes a gateway into the realm of the fantastic.
For some reason lots of my stories tend to end badly for the main characters. I don't know why that is. Several of my short stories are available in print anthologies. I also co-authored the screenplay “The Kult” which is based on the novel of the same name by Shaun Jeffrey. I’m currently seeking a home for my debut sci-fi/steampunk novel, The Exile’s Violin.
I live in southern California with my girlfriend. She the first person I turn to whenever I have problems with plots or characters.
