About the Author:

Kent was born in Mississippi and raised all over the south. Although her parents moved from one state to another about every two years, still, each time, she found them. A writer, storyteller, insurance consultant, and college math instructor, she enjoys writing and storytelling because she get to exercise creative mind and make stuff up. (Although, truth be told, she excels at making stuff up in math class, too. You should hear her demonstrate to her set theory students the elegant proof that she can prove anything.) Her insurance work has moved her further and further north. Now she finds myself living with her husband and two sons in the frozen tundra of Minnesota (don’tcha know), where she fears that she'll never be warm again, and tells stories about the south to any audience that will listen.
